Peter G. Sherba - President
Peter completed his 4th year electrical in 1989. His objective is to maintain a productive, growing electrical construction company, meeting the needs of our clients and suppliers throughout the business year. Peter's roles, duties and responsibilities include contract negotiations, legal requirements, project planning, resource management, quality management and control.
Scott Sherba - Vice President & Operation Manager
Scott completed his 4th year Electrical in 1993 and his objective is to ensure the highest standard of service and maintenance is provided to the Ministry of Transportation and Highways, ensuring the safety of the general public. He is responsible for project planning, resource management, quality management and control, compliance with standard specifications for highway construction, site preparations,materials lists and inventory, subcontracting and subcontractors, crew recruitments and supervision and communication with ministry inspectors.
Karen Emerson - Corporate Financial Officer
Jay Dupras - Project Manager
Jay graduated from College of New Caledonia in 1994 with a diploma in Engineering graphics and Design Technology. His objective is to ensure project key milestones are met by managing labor and material schedules and provide quality control on material ordering and management. Jay`s roles, duties and responsibilities are to coordinate with other design professionals to determine the responsibilities scope of the assignment and obtain the required information to complete the electrical design, conduct site inspections to ensure construction is in compliance with the design drawings and applicable codes. Jay is member of the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of BC.
Sandy Kaebe - Quality Manager
Sandy completed the Quality management and Internal Auditing course in 2005. Her objective is to ensure that Westcana provides the highest level of quality service and meets the demands of customers in a timely manner. Sandy's roles, duties and responsibilities are to provide quality management and control, compliance with Ministry of Transportation and Highways specifications for highway preventative and corrective maintenance, billing for I.C.B.C claims, internal auditing, communication with the Ministry of Transportation and Highways.
Doug Engstrom Jr. - Project Coordinator
Doug graduated from the College of New Caledonia as a journeyman in 1994 and received his Interprovincial Red Seal in 1995. His objective is to estimate, bid, organize and manage labor for future and current projects. Doug`s roles, duties and responsibilities are to estimate and submit bids for possible projects. Write out billing for past and current projects. Receive, write-up and manage labor for service call order in a timely manner. Conduct site inspections to ensure construction is in compliance with the design drawings and applicable codes.
Karen Hackle - Occupational Health and Safety Coordinator
Karen attended a joint OHS Committee Workshop in 2008 and attended a Supervisor course in 2009. Her objectives are to provide and maintain a safe and healthy work environment for all personnel in and outside the company through the continual development and implementation of an occupational health and safety program. Karen's roles, duties and responsibilities include, OH&S program coordinator, updating Westcana's program according to WCB regulations, annual/weekly/monthly reviews of safety concerns. accident/incident investigations, WCB claims management, project safety coordinator, job site safety inspections, hazard/risk assessments, communication with WCB officers, management of safety meetings, joint health and safety committee.
Mike Gair - Purchaser
Mike completed his 4th year Electrical in 1980 at the College of New Caledonia. His objective is to ensure the prompt delivery and ordering of material and equipment to all jobs and employees, and to supervise all material handling within the company. Mike's roles, duties and responsibilities include, purchasing and ordering all materials and equipment for Westcana Electric and it's employees, working as an electrician in the roles of supervisor, foreman or service man.
